In the series of gestured sculptures inspired by local birds
and fauna of the region, you can find sculptures of small, medium,
and large scales. In this work one is able to perceive subtle
and suggestive features representing the animal itself.

Omar Ortiz
Born in New York in 1971. Omar Ortiz began his formal education
in the Arts in 1989. In 1990 he was admitted to the School of
Plastic Arts of the Puerto Rican Institute of Culture, where
he obtained a Bachelor’s Degree in Plastic Arts with a
specialization in Sculpture in 1995. Ortiz also took courses
in metal fusion techniques to broaden his technical knowledge.
